Privacy policy

What we collect

Your photos and projects. Photos you upload are processed in your browser and stored on your own device.

Account details. If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from Google. Guest use needs no account at all.

Optional visitor analytics. On our public website and editor app, Google Analytics counts visits and page views only after you choose “Allow analytics”. It uses analytics cookies and processes browser/device information and approximate location; Google also receives network information when your browser contacts its service. We do not send your photos, artwork, project titles, account details, form entries or URL query strings in these page-view events. Advertising signals are disabled.

Your analytics choice

Choose “No thanks” to use PBN Studio without Google Analytics. You can reopen “Privacy choices” at the bottom of the website or editor and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal stops future collection and removes our analytics cookies on that site; it does not erase data already received by Google.

Your choice is saved on this browser separately for the website and editor. Local development, preview deployments and admin pages do not collect visitor analytics. Clearing browser data resets your choice. Blocking cookies or analytics may mean your visit does not appear in our reports.

How we use it

Browser security check. The v0.9.7.0 editor update includes Cloudflare Turnstile for online entry. When enabled on the deployed app, Cloudflare processes browser and network signals to help distinguish people from automated traffic. We do not send artwork or project contents with this check. It is separate from optional Google Analytics; returning users can still open their local work offline. See Cloudflare's Turnstile privacy information.

We use personal information only to run PBN Studio: creating your projects, answering support questions, and meeting our legal duties. We do not sell personal information to anyone.

Where your work lives

Projects are saved in this browser on your device for both guests and signed-in users. Projects do not sync to the cloud or between devices. Clearing your browser data removes them. Projects stay on your device and are yours to keep or clear at any time.

Your POPIA rights

You may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Anyone can email hello@pbnstudio.co.za and we will respond within a reasonable time. If you are not satisfied, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Order artwork and details

When you place a printed order, the finished pattern files would travel with the order so we can print them — we would not receive your photo library, only the artwork you order. Email address, phone number, and delivery address would be used to fulfil and deliver your order and to send order updates.

Payment and cloud records

Information would be used for fulfilling orders, taking payment, and meeting legal duties such as tax records for orders. Payments would be processed by PayFast; your card details would go directly to them and never touch our servers. Future order and customer profile records would be stored with Google Firebase; Google sign-in identity is already used by the current free editor as described above. Ordered artwork and order records would be stored securely in the cloud so we can print and deliver what you approved.

Deletion and retention

Signed-in customers would be able to delete their account and cloud data from the app's account area. Order records would be kept for as long as tax law requires, then removed. Email remains the current route for access, correction, and deletion requests.
